Using AI responsibly in your business (for non-tech founders)

AI is everywhere right now, and for small businesses it can be a helpful support—if used with intention.

Responsible use comes down to three principles:

1. Use AI for clarity, not shortcuts.
AI can help brainstorm, organize, summarize, or generate options. But it shouldn’t replace the thoughtfulness behind your work.

2. Keep your judgment at the centre.
AI is a tool, not a decision-maker. Let it help you see possibilities, not define them.

3. Protect personal data.
Never paste sensitive client information into any AI tool. Keep boundaries clear and ethical.

Used well, AI becomes a quiet collaborator—helping with drafts, ideas, structure, and admin tasks—so you can focus on the parts of your work that require your humanity.
